WeatherBug has landed an exclusive distribution deal with Verizon Wireless to deliver content to its various mobile Web platforms, displacing previous partner Weather.com. The weather information provider, which claims to deliver more localized weather coverage than its competitors, will now produce customized video forecasts for Verizon’s V Cast service, along with text-based forecasts for Verizon’s various mobile Web platforms. In addition, WeatherBug says it will be able to sell advertising on these platforms, making its one of a few Verizon partners able to do so directly.
