MSN has joined the wave of green-themed media ventures, as the portal has rolled out a new channel consisting of environmental news and information aimed at the masses. The new MSN Green aggregates content from partners such as MSNBC, Hearst Magazines’ own recently-launched eco-themed content play The Daily Green, along with a host of smaller blogs and environmentally-focused organizations. In addition, the new channel will regularly pilfer articles and videos from other MSN services that touch on environmental issues, according to MSN. MSN Green joins a growing collection of Web destinations looking to target the growing universe of eco-conscious Americans. Besides Hearst’s The Daily Green, Yahoo launched its own green channel earlier this year, while Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive rolled out the similar-themed Sprig.com, among others.
