Churchill Downs Inc. (CDI) will “soon have its tracks’ racing replays available on YouTube.com as part of an effort by the Louisville-based company to reach out to a younger customer base”. Vernon Nive, President of CDI’s account-wagering Web site, TwinSpires.com, discussed the move Tuesday during the Univ. of Arizona’s Symposium on Racing & Gaming. Niven: “That content is better off in the public domain. Technology is changing customers’ expectations and how it affects racing.” CDI also has plans for the Kentucky Derby Web site to have a presence on the Netvibes.com site, which Mitchell notes “is also popular with a demographic base younger than that of the traditional racing fan”.
