MySpace Launching Its Developer Tools Next Month (3rd Party Applications)

MySpace, in an attempt to tap into outside developers (similar to Facebook), is launching its pre-announced developer platform on Feb 5th. Programmers and other companies will be able to develop applications/widgets on top of the MySpace platform, similar to Facebook apps. For now, only the tools are launching...no date yet on when the actual launch of these apps will be. The apps will allows developers to embed advertising and make revenues, but no word yet on any revenue split with MySpace. MySpace is already working with Google-backed OpenSocial platform, and this new developer program will incorporate OpenSocial. The site for developers is found below.
