As part of their comprehensive "greening'' program for the franchise, the New Jersey Nets have launched Netsgogreen.com, a Web site for fans to learn about energy conservation, global warming, and other environmental issues. The site also includes information on what the Nets' front office and team are doing to be greener; highlights of upcoming green-themed nights during home games; and public service announcements from players and the dance squad. Netsgogreen.com also will offer a green ticket plan, in which a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a green non-profit to help prevent climate change. The Nets announced last November a broad environmental initiative that involves adopting sustainable practices in the operations they control. The team wants to become the first NBA team to become carbon neutral by improving energy efficiency, recycling and establishing green procurement policies, among other things.http://www.dailymail.com/Sports/200801080667
