The New England Patriots [team stats] have launched a new Web site where New England high school football teams can post their histories, records and photos for their fans and opponents to peruse. The site, www.NewEnglandFootball.com, will be incorporated into an exhibit at the $22 million Hall at Patriot Place, the Kraft family’s forthcoming interactive multimedia shrine to the Patriots and New England football that’s set to open in September. Registration and information packs for the Web site have been sent to athletic directors and head football coaches at more than 640 high schools. Each school must designate an information manager to oversee its team’s password-protected page, delegate who else can contribute postings and monitor comments. Any information posted to NewEnglandFootball.com will be accessible through a link on touch-screen kiosks at the New England Football exhibit at the Hall at Patriot Place, now under construction next to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. Hall staff will add other information, including the origins of New England football and the six states’ football heroes and champions, traditions, rivalries and milestones. Eventually, functions that would allow audio and video contributions to the Web site could be added. It might also be expanded to include Pop Warner and/or college football teams.http://bostonherald.com/business/media/view.bg?articleid=1079718
