Make Skype Calls From Your iPhone

Fring is launching a downloadable app for the iPhone that will allow people to make Skype and other VoIP calls over the data connection instead of using up talk minutes. Fring supports Skype, MSN Messenger, Google Talk, ICQ, SIP, Twitter, Yahoo and AIM services. It is now live. (Warning: You will need to Jailbreak your iPhone to make it work). The Fring blog has more details or you can download it at the Fringcubator. With so many minutes on most cell phone plans, most people won’t be using this to make local calls. But it could come in handy for international calls or simply keeping up with IM on the go.

Skype Pro is a really a great decision of making cheap calls. The sound quality is at least as good as a normal phone call if you use the speakers/microphone combination, and excellent if you use a headset. But if you do not have internet connection, it is impossible to make cheap calls, and in such situations I usually use 0800 numbers freephone calls which is free to call from landlines and will speed up the claims process. In most cases, customers will need to have only one conversation with an adviser to make their benefit claim, so benefits will be received more quickly.
