VH1 said it plans to launch a new tool built for mobile devices that will provide viewers with the ability to access chat room while they watch the network’s top shows. The new VH1 Watch and Discuss Live Chat application will be available for users to download for free through various mobile carriers. Via the new app, fans will be able to join in on ongoing discussions within VH1’s existing chat rooms as these shows air on TV. Plus, users will be able to use Watch and Discuss Live to create their own chat rooms on whatever topic they’d like, whether VH1 related or not. They will also be able to set up personal profiles and message their friends using the tool, said VH1.
