Internet Censorship Still Prevalent At Olympics; Dissident Group Hands Out Hacker Software to US Media and Government Officials

The Chinese government has banned the main Web site for Toronto-based int'l humanitarian-aid organization Right to Play (RTP), "which has strong Olympic connections and seeks to reach children in the third world through sports and play." Plenty of websites are still blocked," including those for Amnesty Int'l, Free Tibet, and a YouTube video showing the '89 protest at Tiananmen Square. An Internet "freedom group founded by computer experts from the Falun Gong spiritual movement is handing out software to congressmen, senators, journalists and anybody else headed to the Olympics who wants to browse Internet sites blocked by the Chinese government."
