Turner has rolled out a new Web applications geared for golf fans who can’t get to a TV but hope to monitor their favorite players and tournaments in a live a manner as possible. The new PGA Tour Shot Tracker, according to Turner, goes beyond the typical live scoring updates offered on most sports sites. The free application, available on the Turner-managed PGATour.com starting on Aug. 21 for the kickoff of The Barclays tournament, provides users with up-to-the-second results on players scoring. But even more cutting edge, says Turner, is that fans will be able to follow specific players’ shots in granular detail, as officials on each course will post live information on where each ball exactly lands on the course, and which path each shot takes – which Shot Tracker will present to users in graphical form. Shot Tracker will be available during several remaining PGA events this year as well, including the Deutsche Bank Championship on Aug. 29 through Sept. 1 and the BMW Championship (Sept. 4-7).
