TiVo Begins Its Own TV Ratings System

TiVo today will begin reporting TiVo Stop Watch, a monthly commercial ratings system “based on data collected from its 4.3 million [DVR] units.” TiVo’s database features “a year’s worth of data from random sampling of 20,000 homes – twice that collected by Nielsen Media Research”
