USA Hockey Unveils New Travelocity-Backed Site

USA Hockey will unveil a new travel Web site today that is backed by Travelocity Partner Network's search technology. The site will offer USA Hockey's 527,269 members a way to search for the cheapest flight and lodging options available, and then book that travel in a way that benefits the organization. USA Hockey will benefit from a revenue-sharing agreement with Travelocity for each member who books group travel for youth teams or individual travel through the site, usahockeytravel.com. The relationship highlights a possible new revenue stream for NGBs with large membership bases like USA Hockey, Figure Skating, Soccer and others. Though Travelocity has worked for a number of non-profits, the partnership with USA Hockey marks is its first with an NGB. "It's a market we'd like to explore and grow in," said WCT Travelocity VP/Business Development Rick Schneider. "Affinity travel is a win-win for both sides."
