Warner Bros. T-Works To Offer Online Video, Gaming, Virtual World Featuring Cartoon Icons

Warner Bros. is creating a video site that will house all its iconic animations, from Bugs Bunny to Batman, called T-Works. The site kicks off in the spring, and will showcase ad-supported programming, both archived episodes and new, original features, from WB units Looney Tunes, DC Comics and Hanna-Barbera. So far, an untitled Batman short-form series and an unnamed project based on The Wizard of Oz, are in the works and will be shown on the site first. Aside from housing videos, T-Works will also have a slew of interactive features, including games and virtual worlds. Users will be able to create an avatar based on an existing animated character that they will be able to use on other sites, such as MySpace and Facebook. The site also comes with a “video mash-up” function that will let users create and share their own cartoon remixes.
