Ditka Launches Web Site To Aid Pension Benefits For Former NFLers

Pro Football HOFer Mike Ditka Thursday unveiled Gridirongreats.org, a Web site designed to provide former players an outlet “to tell their stories in their own words, provide information, comments and to share their experiences with disability, pension and other post-career issues”. Ditka appeared at a news conference along with former NFLers Mercury Morris, Dave Pear, Tim Harris, as well as Garrett Webster, the son of the late Mike Webster, “who say the NFLPA is targeting them.” The event was “at least in part a reaction to” the NFLPA launching online programs titled “Truth Squad” and “The White Paper,” which some former players claim “publicly targets specific players who are disabled or mentally impaired”
