Ridiculous Item of the Day: Bill Belichick’s Boring Sweatshirt is Patriots No. 1 Online Seller

Patriots coach Bill Belichick's game-day sweatshirt, "despite its detractors ... has become the number-one seller in the Patriots Pro Shop, outranking even Tom Brady's jersey," according to Rachel Nichols of ESPN. Reebok VP/NFL Merchandising Kenny Gamble said the company said to Belichick, "'Wow, coach, we have a lot of other great styles. We would love to see you outfitted in those styles.' But since he chose to wear something that he felt comfortable in, we support it." Although Belichick cuts his sleeves off the sweatshirt, Gamble said Reebok does not "have any plans to design any hoodies with cutoff sleeves." Nichols said the sweatshirt, "now simply known as 'The Belichick,'" is such an "integral part of his mystique, the Pro Football (HOF) is hoping to add one to its display." Pro Football HOF VP/Communications & Exhibits Joe Horrigan said, "As we collect things for any potential (HOFer), we look for those things fans can identify with so it helps to tell stories. We have actually contacted the Patriots and let them know that we're certainly interested".
