UFC to Stream PPV Fights on Yahoo

In a move designed to extend its reach beyond traditional pay-per-view telecasts and its cable partnership with Spike TV, the UFC will stream PPV shows on the Yahoo! Sports Web site. Fans will be able to watch UFC fights live from their computers and have access to bouts for 24 hours after the live event. The price tag of $44.95 is the same as the going rate for UFC PPV shows on cable and satellite. The first event to stream live on Yahoo! is UFC 82 this Saturday. While the UFC-Yahoo! deal provides a convenient albeit pricey alternative for watching events, in the wake of the business partnership, will fans see changes to how Yahoo! Sports covers the UFC? With a legion of savvy fans quick to criticize media outlets viewed as toeing the UFC company line, it's a question already generating plenty of discussion in the MMA blogosphere.
