New Red Sox Fan Site Getting Attention (For Wrong Reasons)

A new Web site, sexySOXgirls.com, invites the women of Red Sox Nation to post playful soft-porn photos of themselves in Sox hats, shirts and other strategically placed paraphernalia. The point: to get the public to rate candidates on a scale of five red socks - one sock being “hot,” five socks being “hottest.” SexySOXgirls must be 18 and older and “nude” pictures aren’t accepted, but little else is left to the imagination. Applicants are required to fill out a profile naming their favorite Sox player, which beaches and bars they frequent and why they think they’re sexy. The site’s sponsor, ticket broker Fenway-Tix.com, did not respond to a request for comment. But the site is not shy about its lofty standards, warning contestants, “If we decide not much effort was put forth, your profile will not be approved.” As of yesterday, none of the nominees who’ve submitted pix and profiles had scored a perfect five.
