Or Die Networks, best known for the Funny or Die website, announced plans to branch into videogames with PwnorDie.com. Pwn--gamer slang for great game play--is currently in beta testing and will formally launch by the fall, said Dick Glover, CEO of ODN. "We're looking to create a one-stop shop for everything related to video games," he added. "Our model is this idea of a robust video platform with a huge community surrounding it." ODNtworks leaped to prominence last year with the launch of FunnyorDie.com that featured Will Farrell's now famous web video, "The Landlord." The video game industry has never had that level of celebrity cache, but Glover said Pwn or Die will be soliciting content and interviews from people well known in the gaming space. The new venture will be cross-promoted on other ODN sites, Glover said, noting the site will be initially ad supported, but that the company is also looking to develop Pwn or Die as a brand that can live offline in a number of ways, including merchandising.
