TruMedia Networks, a developer of sports-related social media tools, announced on Wednesday that it has acquired a number of online sports communities from Boxcar Media, including Sawxheads.com, Celtsheads.com, Patsheads.com and Blackandgoldheads.com. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Massachusetts-based TruMedia said the acquisition will give it an integrated suite of media properties targeting fans of all of Boston's major sports teams. "In just a year, Boxcar Media has established Sawxheads.com as the premier grassroots destination for diehard Sox fans and Boxcar Media will continue to play an active role as we move forward," said Rafe Anderson, CEO of TruMedia Networks.
