Titleist Creates YouTube-Like Web Site to Promote NXT Brand

Titleist has created a Web site, NXTube.com, which includes “YouTube-like features to promote its new NXT Extreme balls and engage customers,” according to John Steinbreder of GOLFWEEK. Visitors can read the rants of Ian MacCallister, a character played by John Cleese in TV ads, and they can add comments on his “faux battle to ban the NXT” by e-mailing comments or uploading homemade videos. Titleist VP/Advertising & Communications Mary Lou Bohn said that the primary goal is to “develop among consumers a stronger sense of community and loyalty to the NXT brand.” The company plans to run ads for the ball through the middle of next year in TV, online and in print.
