Bauer Targets Teens With 4TNZ.com

Newsstand publisher Bauer Publishing, which to date has had a modest presence online, has launched what it hopes will be its first big standalone Web site in the form of a humor site for teens. The site, at www.4TNZ.com, is meant to be a place that 12-15-year-olds, the same audience targeted by Bauer’s teen titles, visit throughout the day. It features videos from around the Web, original, 60- to 90-second Webisodes and quizzes created by a small editorial staff that’s dedicated to the site. It has a user-generated aspect, of course, where kids can upload their own content. Between sites like myYearbook.com, gURL.com and YouTube, pre-teens have no shortage of online destinations. Bauer Teen Group Publisher Ryan McConville believes 4TNZ.com’s original and frequently updated content will differentiate it from other sites, though. He wouldn’t provide growth targets but said he hoped the site’s visitors would eventually be in the millions.
