EBay Inc.'s StubHub unit will become the official online seller next year for resold tickets for Major League Baseball, taking on Ticketmaster for a share of the multibillion dollar U.S. secondary ticket market. StubHub signed a five-year agreement to be the online secondary ticket broker for at least 26 of the 30 baseball teams, StubHub and the league said today in a statement. Financial terms weren't disclosed. StubHub, which EBay bought in February, is trying to narrow the gap with U.S. sports and concert ticket leader Ticketmaster, a unit of Barry Diller's IAC/InterActive Corp. About 3.5 million event tickets were sold last year on StubHub, with baseball as the largest individual category, spokesman Sean Pate said in an interview yesterday.http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601079&sid=a6Kw0TTmNkus&refer=amsports
